Thunder Bay Access Society (TBAS) is founded

 

A number of issues have come to our attention early:

-Anchors at Pass Lake and Silver Harbour are not up to Canadian standards (set at an offset with chains)

-Trails to climbing areas are over grown and need clearing (Orient Bay, Dorion Tower)

-Existing bolts on sport routes need replacing: anchors on Chinese Water Torture at Pass Lake (Bolt and stud are loose!) New anchor needed on Black Rain.

-Overgrown cracks need a scrub (Silver Harbour)

-New sport route, a 5.9, at Pass Lake has loose rock that needs cleaning.

 

50 bolts are needed for anchor replacement, that is just a start.

 

WINTER

 

-Work on getting better parking for ice climbers in Orient Bay.
